P7 had an amazing opportunity on Thursday 25th November to take part in a funded Science opportunity ran by Queens University, Belfast.
Dr Linda Oyama from Queens Biological Sciences Department led our morning and introduced P7 to the world of microbes and challenged them to find out were ‘Microbes our friend or our foe?’
Pupils got their white coats on and their eye goggles and set to work swabbing various areas in their classroom. The swabs were rubbed onto a Petri dish and these were left to incubate over night. Petri dishes were observed the next morning to see what microbes were present.
